The Flu and You
Influenza (the flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by viruses. Flu symptoms include fever, sore throat, muscle aches, headaches, fatigue and cough. The flu spreads from person to person through coughing and sneezing and annually affects an average of 5% to 20% of the United States population, resulting in 200,000 hospitalizations. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting a flu vaccine each year.
