Preparation Time: 20 min; Cook: 15 min
Houston Mexi Torta Slider ingredients:
1 | package | King's Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Pre-Sliced Slider Buns
1/2 | cup | mayonnaise | |
1 | can | chipotle in adobo | |
1 | stick | (1/2 cup) softened butter
1 1/2 - 2 | pounds | carne asada, cooked (medium rare - medium) and thinly sliced
1/2 | head | lettuce, shredded
8 | slices | provolone cheese
3 | Roma tomatoes, sliced into 18 usable slices
2 | avocados, sliced | ||
STEP 1: In a food processor or blender, combine 1/2 cup mayonnaise and a chipotle pepper until smooth. Taste. Repeat process, adding additional chipotle peppers to increase heat or adding additional mayonnaise to cool down, until desired flavor is reached. (We like heat, so we used about three chipotle peppers!)
STEP 2: Spread butter on inside top and bottom of slider buns and toast in a pan or griddle until lightly golden brown. Generously coat inside of top bun with Spicy Mayo.
STEP 3: While carne asada is cooking, prep as follows. On bottom halves of KINGS HAWAIIAN Slider Buns, add shredded lettuce.
STEP 4: Add thinly sliced carne asada on top of lettuce. Top carne asada with cheese, add tomato slices, then avocado slices. Place top halves of buns on sliders.
