Breathe some life into this well-seasoned standby with some help from Johnsonville!

1 | medium onion, chopped | ||

3 | cloves | garlic, minced | |
|
|||
2 | Tablespoons | olive oil | |
|
|||
1 | package | (24 ounces) frozen Johnsonville Three Cheese Italian Style Meatballs | |
|
|||
2 | cans | (14.5 ounces each) diced tomatoes | |
|
|||
1 | jar | (24 ounces) pasta sauce | |
|
|||
1 | carton | (15 ounces) ricotta cheese | |
|
|||
1/2 | cup | grated Parmesan cheese | |
|
|||
4 | cups | (16 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese (divided) | |
|
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Cook pasta according to package directions.
In a large saucepan, saute onion and garlic in oil until tender.
Add the meatballs, tomatoes and pasta sauce; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer for 20 minutes or until meatballs are heated through.
In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese and 2 cups mozzarella cheese.
Drain pasta; add to cheese mixture and stir until blended.
In a greased 13 x 9- inch baking dish, layer half of the pasta mixture and half of the meatball mixture; repeat layers. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
Bake, uncovered, for 20 to 25 minutes or until cheese is melted.
