1 | pound | ground turkey | |

3 | tablespoons | butter | |

2 | carrots, peeled and chopped | ||

3 | stalks | celery, chopped | |
|
|||
1 | red bell pepper, chopped | ||
|
|||
1 | medium onion, chopped | ||

salt and pepper, to taste | |||

1 | tablespoon | olive oil | |

5 | cloves | garlic, crushed and minced or 5 teaspoons minced garlic | |

2 | tablespoons | chili powder | |
|
|||
3 | teaspoons | cumin | |
|
|||
12 | ounces | beer (best with Oktoberfest), can be omitted | |

1 | can | (14.5 ounce) diced tomatoes | |
|
|||
1 | can | (8 ounce) tomato sauce | |
|
|||
1/2 | cup | hot sauce (or less depending on desired taste) | |
|
In dutch oven on med/high heat, cook ground turkey and move to bowl.
In same dutch oven, add butter and cook the carrots, celery, pepper and onion until soft; add salt and pepper to taste.
Make a spot in the middle to cook garlic in olive oil for 30 seconds. Mix together and add chili powder and cumin.
Optional: deglaze dutch oven with 12 ounces beer.
Add cooked ground turkey; mix together.
Stir in diced tomatoes and tomato sauce.
Stir in hot sauce to desired tasted.
